Getting started → Setting up a proxy
Protocol theory: HTTP/HTTPSSOCKS5
System proxies: WindowsmacOSLinux

Features of Avant

Avant is a browser based on IE/Trident/Chromium engines (depending on the version) that uses system network settings. In most cases it is enough to configure the proxy at the OS level — the browser will pick them up automatically.

  1. Open system proxy settings:
  2. Specify:
    • Host: p2.mangoproxy.com
    • Port: 2333
    • Authorisation by login/password on the first request.
  3. Save, restart Avant if necessary.

Option B. Force only Avant through a proxy

If you want only Avant to go through a proxy (and not the system), use an application redirector:

  • ProxyCap or Proxifier.
Create a rule for avant.exe → redirect through Mango Proxy.

Verification

  1. Open a tab in Avant and go to https://api.ipify.org.
  2. Make sure Mango Proxy IP is displayed.

Frequently asked questions

  • Need SOCKS5 — use a system SOCKS proxy or a rule in ProxyCap/Proxifier.
  • DNS leaks — enable “Resolve names through proxy” in ProxyCap/Proxifier.
